If you are ever in the Richmond area, I recommend stopping by Belle Ilse.
This outdoor haven located within the city is well worth the time.
From the moment we wake until our head hits the pillow, we are busy. Busy with all those things that we think matter. Always moving. Always in motion. Even when our bodies stop for a mere moment, our thoughts are still moving forward to that place called the “TO-DO” List. Surely, we would think it is getting us somewhere… Surely, it’s not all in vain, right? Or are we taking one step forward and two steps back? Maybe we are even in Scooby-Doo motion and actually getting nowhere?
Maybe it’s time we stopped for a moment to reflect, renew and revive. In all our busyness, did we forget our destination? Are we even going in the right direction? What are we moving toward? Let’s reflect on the verse to see if we are moving forward, backward or nowhere in time.
New International Version (NIV)
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
May we Reflect, Renew and Revive
