Mystery Blogger Award

What an honor I’ve been given for the nomination of the Mystery Blogger Award by Penny For Your Thoughts Blog. I humbly accept and hope you will check out this fellow bloggers window into a unique soul and perspective.

Here are the rules:

  • Display Award Logo On Blog
  • List The Rules
  • Mention Creator Of Award & Provide A Link
  • Thank The Blogger(s) Who Nominated You & Provide A Link
  • Say 3 Things About Yourself
  • Nominate From 10 To 20 Bloggers
  • Notify Nominated Bloggers By Leaving A Comment On Their Blog
  • Answer 5 Questions From Nominee
  • Write 5 Questions For Your Nominees
  • Share Your Best Post

3 Things About Me:

  1. I’m most comfortable when wearing my blue jeans with holes in the knees and a sweatshirt.
  2. My comfort food these days is Buttered Noodles from the restaurant (Noodles & Co.) I’m sure this will eventually pass. LOL
  3. I love chocolate of every kind but I can’t stand the taste of chocolate pie.

Five Questions From Penny For Your Thoughts:

  1. What do you look for in blog posts when you’re looking at the Reader feed (what makes you click to read more about a post)?   This is an easy one. I look for positive, thought-provoking content which I can relate to or possibly look at with a different perspective. Because I have a passion for photography, photos always catch my eye and lure me in. I love realism. I love personal stories. I love shorter posts as compared to one with over a thousand words. I also look at how eye-catching and organized the blog may be. If it’s cluttered and confusing, I usually click out quickly.
  2. How do you end your day? Each day brings on a different meaning but I end every day with a whispered prayer of thanksgiving.
  3. What is your favorite color and why?  Cobalt blue is my favorite color. Always has been and probably always will. Why? I’m not sure. Maybe because it reminds me of freedom of open spaces.
  4. Do you see hope in humanity or in a deity (God, etc.) or not at all?  I firmly believe in the Constitution. I firmly believe our nations Founding Fathers recognized God. I firmly believe our nation was founded on Biblical principles. I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I firmly believe that God’s hand is stretched over all nations and in Him, there is a hope like no other.
  5. If there was one thing you could know about the future, what would you want to know? Hummm…That’s a good one. My present existence is my personal journey from day-to-day. I can’t imagine knowing or wanting to know anything about the future. Anything I could possibly learn about what lies ahead could alter my here and now.  I can’t imagine not playing it out to its full potential.  So, I would say ‘nope’ to that one.

Five Questions For the Nominees:

  1. What’s your number #1 on your list of ‘pet peeves?’
  2. What is one thing you want people to know or realize about you?
  3. What’s your  #1 “happy” or “go to” place?
  4. If you were at the highest peak in world for all to hear and see…what one thing would you say?
  5. If there was one song title or lyric that you could live your life by, what would it be?

My Best Post?

I have many posts that I could say are my best, not because of the number of ‘likes, views or comments’…but because of the perspective, the  purpose behind the words and the passion that it brings.

The Mystery Blogger Award was created by Okoto Enigma and given to those nominated for their ingenious posts. Their blog captivates, inspires, and motivates.  This blogger finds fun and inspiration in blogging and does it with much love and passion.

The Nominees:

I’m sorry for breaking the rules on this one. Although I enjoy receiving and giving these awards to fellow bloggers, not all receive it well. I am not listing any nominees but will individually share this on their blog as notification to their nomination.

Thanks again to Penny For Your Thoughts, for the nomination. It’s been fun!

Hello Sunshine

I have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Soma who blogs over at SomaWrites. The Sunshine Award is given by fellow bloggers to other bloggers who are positive and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere. I am honored and thank Soma for the nomination. She, too, is an inspiration. Soma writes and conveys through her blog that one can actually escape their comfort zone if they only put their mind to it. Please check her out. I’m sure you will be inspired.

sunshine award

Sunshine Blogger Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the eleven questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate eleven blogs to receive the award and write them eleven new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or your blog.

So, maybe I should now attempt to answer some of her questions.

  1. Name something that makes you happy? Of course, spending time with my family and grandson makes me happy. I am a “Nonnie.” This name was actually given to me by my grandson. That makes me happy! Also, I am about to become a Nonnie again within the next few weeks. That makes me super happy!
  2. Would you rather live in the city or countryside? I was born and raised in the beautiful mountains of WV. I absolutely love visiting the city. But I couldn’t imagine living there. I’m a country girl at heart!
  3. What’s your ultimate inspiration song? That’s a good question. I have many songs that inspire me,  depending on where I’m at in life. I love music that gets me moving and thinking. But my “go to” songs would have to be: Hold On/Alabama Shakes, Heroes/David Bowie and Eagles Fly/ Sammy Hagar which is what I used as a song on my SKY DIVE experience.
  4. Name 1 item on your bucket list. Ok. This is a great one! I am working on my Bucket List. I’ve already checked off two on my list. If you’re interested in finding out what they were, click here. But the next one I want to check off is a road trip with hubby through Route 66.  Planning this one… hopefully for next year.
  5. Do you prefer to write or type? Write. I love the way it flows on the blank white page.
  6. Mountains or Sea? Sea. I know…I’m a Mountaineer so why the sea? I love the way the calm of the ocean speaks to me.
  7. What is something you do to relieve stress? Shhh…don’t tell my husband but I dance around the house with the music up loud at the end of the work day before he gets home. Oh, and a long hot bubble bath works too.
  8. What is your happy color?   Cobalt Blue
  9. If you visit a new place or country what is the first thing you would do? Easy one! Take photos! 🙂
  10. What is one thing you cannot live without? My faith in God.
  11. Who do you look up to? There are many people in my life I admire and look up to…my parents, my children, all those mentors who helped mold me…but, I truly admire and look up to any and all who have battled an illness, disability or struggle. There’s just something special about a person who lives bravely in the face of adversity.

My Nominations:

Let The Light In-Reflections

Dish Dessert

Hunt’s Clubhouse

Young and Twenty

As you can see…I cheated. I only nominated five. So you five are under no obligation to accept this nomination but please know you have been an inspiration. If you accept, I ask you to answer any five questions from the list. You can answer all, but if not, please choose five. Also, please pass on the nomination to at least five other bloggers whom you admire.

Thanks again, to Soma, for sending some sunshine my way. I truly appreciate it.

Blogger Award Acceptance and Nominations

This goes out to Aditi Sharma, from India, and her beautiful blog, Idle Muser.  About a week ago, while I was checking my emails…one in particular put a smile on my face. Aditi had written a post with a few nominations for the Bloggers Recognition Award, and I was among those nominated. For this, I thank you, Aditi. If you have not had a chance to get to know Aditi through Idle Muser, please take a moment and check her out. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Once the award is accepted, I am to complete the following:

The traditional rules for accepting this nomination is:

  1. Thank the one who nominated you and embed a link to their blog.
  2. Share how you started your blog.
  3. Give a little bit of advice that new bloggers can take away.
  4. Select fifteen other blogs  who you think really deserve the award.( Sorry, I cheated)
  5. Visit the blogs you nominated and let them know.

My Genesis: “The View From My Window” has always been a constant thought from my younger high school years. I always knew I would be a writer from the first time my pen hit the blank page and a poem was formed.  The title was inspired by my Creative Writing Class. How I loved that class and Mrs. Francis Eckert. What an inspiration she was.

From Me to You: Be Yourself. Don’t blog about what all the other bloggers are saying. Find your niche and write on a regular schedule. Don’t just focus on writing, but reading also. Read other posts from those who support you and seek out those who don’t. Be supportive in the blogosphere. Don’t worry about the “stats” and do remember what your purpose and goal is in blogging. Write with conviction from a personal point of view. Blogging is a people business so be true to your readers as well, as yourself.  Oh…and did I say? Be Yourself?

I would like to nominate a few bloggers who have come my way and have been admiring their work. You are not obligated to accept but just know that you are an inspiration. For any who are not listed and would like to participate, please feel to accept this nomination, as well.

Saved and Blessed, But I Smile Anyway, Inspire Within Yourself, SomaWrites, Sunshine: Rays on Life,

Thanks again, Aditi, for the nomination. You are an inspiration to many!
