A Savage World…

Generations gather around the political arena to only view a savage world within. Men, women and children are no longer safe. The unknown savage who wears a mask lurks among us, as we unknowingly walk among them. Savage. A word we choose not to identify with. But in this world of prejudice, injustice and lack of love, we must acknowledge it for what it is. Savage.

Really? Is that what this world has become?  Or is that what the media portrays more often than not?

God created the world. Within this world, He created mankind. Mankind was given this thing called “free-will.” This thing called free-will has given us the power of choice. With that power of choice comes a responsibility to choose right from wrong. When the choice is wrong, most likely…sin occurs. When sin occurs, there are consequences. Consequences in which the just and unjust may be effected.

We live in an imperfect world. Sometimes, a savage world. But God is not the source of the savage. But rather, He is the answer.

Despite God’s desire for us…Despite God’s desire for the world…humans have chosen to sin since the very beginning. The world today is the same as before. Sin is sin. Evil is evil. Life on earth is what we make it.

So, let me state the obvious. Evil exists. Let’s acknowledge it. Let’s admit it. Let’s pray about it.  But, let’s not dwell on it.

Yes, evil exists but so does God. God did not create evil but yet, He does not prevent it, either. Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if we had no evil, no sin? I have. It could paint a pretty picture in our minds but what’s the point of that scenario? What could possibly be our purpose on earth if we were not given the privilege of free-will?

Savage as it may be, I am blessed to have the choice of free-will. I am hopeful to know that God is in control. I am appreciative of the reminder that He is not finished. I am optimistic in knowing that something better is yet to come. And, I am thankful that His love surrounds me.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Savage. A brokenness that God can heal… if we choose.

These photos were taken while traveling. The fence with the word “savage” is directly in front of the scenic view. I am not sure who wrote the word “savage” nor do I know why, but it was inspiring. The view may be untamed and savage, but hopeful and beautiful, just the same.

I Have a Confession to Make…Again

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes I create my own storms and try to blame the weather on others…Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes I am my own worst enemy. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes there are so many moments I think to do positive…but it never becomes an action. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes I give power to fear. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes I wonder if I was forgiven of a particular sin even though I know God remembers it no more. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes, forced tolerance makes me angry. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes, I become stagnant in life and even more in Christianity. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes, unwanted silence makes me uncomfortable. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes I doodle: I scribble on paper absent-mindedly. I also find myself “doodling” in life…Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes, I feel guilty about something but not enough to “fix” it. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

Sometimes, my Bible sits right next to my computer; but yet, I still spend more time on Face Book. Sometimes….

I have a confession to make..

Sometimes, when I sin…I try to convince myself God doesn’t see or hear what I do…knowing, down deep, He does. Sometimes…

I have a confession to make…

I am human. I make mistakes. Lots of mistakes. Sometimes I learn from my mistakes while other times, I don’t. I have so many more confessions that are buried within.

I have a confession to make…

I am a Christian…A Christian with flaws. God sees me and knows me. He understands me. He loves me.  He forgives me. His love and grace covers me completely. I am thankful. I am blessed. This is the ultimate confession.

Waiting…

the

rain falls

quickly

from the sky.

Heavy drops…

dancing.

           Rain Dance

Splattering…splat…

Mystical drops…

leaving traces

of their journey…

puddles at rest,

Waiting…

for the sun

to smile over.
