The Audacity…

Do you sometimes find yourself wandering through life and wondering what lies ahead?  I don’t believe life is about finding ourselves…but more about discovering who God wants us to be.

He did not give us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

“We were created to do amazing things”.

AUDACIOUS…A word that just seems to roll right off my tongue with little effort and yet it has never been a part of my vocabulary.

The very thought of this word, to someone who has always been cautious and mild-mannered, can be intimidating. I’ve always wanted to be more adventurous and daring but somewhat fearful of the unknown.

Living out our story to the best of our ability will inspire others to do the same. And…giving God the glory proclaims the ultimate audacious truth that we are God’s masterpiece.

Just because I am a Christian doesn’t mean I can not live audaciously. We all have a story to tell. Why not tell it boldly? We can all live a more venturesome life to instill in others the motivation, enthusiasm and courage to do better. Love better. Live better.

I’m almost fifty-four years old.  YIKES! 🙂 What am I waiting for? I’m looking forward to a new perspective and the challenge of a “no-holds-barred” state of mind.

May our lives inspire others to seek the source of our happiness. Be confident in one thing! God has given all of us talents and He knows our abilities. If we start it…He will help finish it.

Until next time,

  1. Hi Laura,
We have to walk boldly in Christ! Like you said we were created to do amazing things.
Even when everything seems dark and hopeless, God promised us a bright new future. We just have to walk in it.

  2. Audacious. Just because you highlighted this word, it seems I have developed a likening for it! Audacious. It’s a nice word. It has such audacity in it. I started my year with some changes in my lifestyle, which I can relate to this word, audacious. Yes, you are right Laura! It is never too late to start being daring and do what we wanted to do. This year let’s be audacious! 🙂

    • Thanks for your comments. I’m glad you could relate to it. Change is a good thing. Here’s to all of us who are looking for a positive outlook on life and live audaciously. 🙂

    • Thanks Peggy! So true. We all have our different levels of boldness. God has blessed me in so many ways and I just want to enjoy each and every one of them. 🙂

  3. Oh, how right you are! Twenties through forties are so laden with making a living and raising their young, they do not have the opportunity to sell out completely to God’s great adventure for them. Fifties is perfect to begin your adventure, and being audacious seems like a good attitude to have in boldly trusting the Lord! Right on, Laura.

    • Oneta, I love your way of thinking. You said it better than I ever could. I feel like I’ve missed out on so much by being so quiet and reserved. This life has so much to offer and I have so much to give. I’m so ready to enjoy the blessings. Thanks so much for your comments. 🙂
