Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have never been discovered.”
And as I look out the window and no longer see the dandelion that once was, in the field of all its glory…I am reminded of all my undiscovered virtues that lies within me.
Each of us have a purpose. Even with all our struggles, there is an unrealized purpose of why we go through hardships. Much like the delicate dandelion that can be tossed with the west winds, our lives can become hectic and become scattered in many directions.
But, the dandelion has a purpose.
All the while, the remains of the weed is blown in a thousand winds, it survives with its seeds falling and growing where ever they land. The dandelion rises above the circumstances and continues to grow even through the rough seasons.
We may not see the reason for what may be happening at the moment, but somewhere along the journey, we will see the strength and resilience of our hardships.
More often than not, we forget what we should remember and remember what we should forget. In this new year, I hope we can remember what is really important. We were never promised an easy life but we can make life easier with a positive perspective and be grateful for all our dandelion moments.
May we all begin to understand those dandelion moments and be empowered to live above the circumstances. Not only live above them but realize and understand their purpose.
It’s a new year! Those days are gone.
Have faith that what lies ahead is better than what’s gone.
And the next time you see a dandelion, pick it up. Take a deep breath and scatter those seeds.
Because FAITH is seeing the flower within each seed.
