the sweet mundane

No images. No gimmicks. No poetic words. Just me and you.

Because…

We all have those days…those ordinary, routine, repetitive, commonplace days where life just seems to stand still. The familiar gray monotony of a day much longer than the twenty-four hours, looms overhead and all we want to do is watch the clock. Our un-glamorous duties await us from the moment we wake and all we can think about is how to escape this recycled life to something more exciting.

No images. No gimmicks. No poetic words. Just me and you.

Because…

We all have a story to tell. A story that can only be told by us through those ordinary, routine, repetitive, commonplace days where life just seems to stand still. That familiar gray monotony of a day which seems much longer than a twenty-four-hour day that looms overhead, just may be the color in the life of another. The clock may seem to be ticking slow but yet, it’s still ticking. The un-glamorous may just be that…un-glamorous; but ask yourself this: Who is telling the story?

No images. No gimmicks. No poetic words. Just me and you.

Because…

I have a philosophy. I believe life is a series of stories. At times, the stories can be awesome. You know… those mountaintop moments when all is good and the view is amazing. Then there’s the “rock bottom” stories we can all relate to. Those moments when the only way to go is up. And in-between the ups and downs are all the ordinary, routine, repetitive, commonplace days where life just seems to stand still. The familiar gray monotony of a day much longer than the twenty-four-hours, just looms overhead and all we want to do is watch the clock. Yes, where the un-glamorous duties still await us from the moment we wake and all we can think about is how to escape this recycled life to something more exciting.

No images. No gimmicks. No poetic words. Just me and you.

Because…

I believe the joy of life is about the ordinary. The familiar gray is why I appreciate the mountaintop moments. Although life may have its “un-glamorous” tasks…I complete it. I use it. I learn from it. The tick of the clock is just a noise, if life is standing still. But if we all have a story to tell, who has time to watch the clock. An exciting story, if told badly, can be dull to any reader. And, a dull story, if told with excitement, can be epic to a listening ear.

No images. No gimmicks. No poetic words. Just me and you.

Because…

The truth is…when the familiar gray monotony of the day becomes larger than life, then we have forgotten the purpose of life and who the real Storyteller is. We have forgotten that every story matters. From life’s biggest moments to the ordinary gray…make the most of the beauty of the sweet mundane.
