I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends
and were able to make wonderful memories.
Time seems to be slipping by so fast with all its trends and tasks.
If you are familiar with the story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10:38-42,
Then you may be able to relate.
The fourth Thursday in November…
The house is ready…let the festivities begin.
Shoes piled up at the entrance front door…
Luggage and bags have no end.
Hugs are exchanged…
So much catching up to do.
Turkey’s in the oven,
The kitchen, much like a zoo.
The once clean house is cluttered, sky-high
Don’t forget to check on those pumpkin pies.
It’s easy to get caught up in the cooking, cleaning
And hosting as in Martha’s case…but
Mary understood the importance of people.
It’s not about the food or the labor of the day…
but rather, the harvest of fellowship
Of every morning of everyday.
As another festive holiday quickly approaches,
may we, with folded hands,
give thanks for our blessings.
but more importantly, come to know the true
meaning of thanksgiving by knowing
how to use our blessings.
Who do you relate with the most? Mary or Martha?
Your thoughts and comments are welcomed and appreciated.
