MUSINGS…149 Days Ago

“I am a triumph of modern medicine,” Reed posted on his website on June 1, 2013, without directly acknowledging the transplant. “I look forward to being on stage performing, and writing more songs to connect with your hearts and spirits and the universe well into the future.”  (Chicago Tribune)

This was a quote from rocker Lou Reed, who  passed away yesterday. 149 days ago, Lou Reed was planning for his future. 149 days ago, Lou Reed was looking forward to sharing his life with others. 149 days ago, Lou Reed planned to sing…planned to dream…planned to live…planned to breathe….149 days ago.

Although I am not a fan of his music, I am aware of his famous song, “Take a Walk On the Wild Side.”  How sad to know that literally taking a walk on the wild side is partly the cause of his passing. I would hope if he had it all to do over again, he would have made wiser choices.

I can’t help but think…”What does my past 149 days say about me?’ What will my future bring me in 149 days? I have no idea where I will be in 149 days. I can only plan what I hope to accomplish but I have no guarantee. Someone once said, God didn’t promise us days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain. But He did promise us strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.”

What does our past or future 149 days say about us? What can we do to make a difference in our lives or others?

JUST 149 DAYS….

Please share ideas, thoughts, quotes, or even just a word to describe how to make the next 149 days POSITIVE!

I will go first:

I want to BECOME VINTAGE in the FRUITS of the SPIRIT! Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithful, Gentleness, Self-Control.

Galatians 5:22-23

  1. That’s a unique way of looking at it. I’m on Pinterest and never saw this one. I will have to look it up. Thanks for the insight! I always love your comments! Please keep them coming. 🙂
