Plain and Simple is always better....
Plain and Simple is sometimes better….

Hey Guys,

Just taking a moment to see what’s up? I feel like I’m the only one doing all the talking and right now, I’m getting a little tired of hearing myself. A fellow blogger, Shanice Nicole,  over at www.SheisNOTAPOET.com has inspired me to step out of the box and express myself. I appreciate her blog, her encouragement and…even though we have never met, I appreciate her! When you get a chance, check her out.

If you know me and have been following me on Face Book or through this blog, you know what’s been on my heart these past few weeks. I am going through many transitions and I want to thank all of you who have made a difference in my life. You are appreciated! If you don’t know me, I am always open for new friends..so, LET’S TALK!

This is our moment to connect! I will say a few things about me and then it’s your turn.

1. I love music! Music makes me happy.  2. I can’t swim and probably never will and I’m ok with that.  3. I have a fear of driving on the interstate that has lots and lots of cars surrounding me, especially semi-trucks. This comes from an incident that occurred several years ago and haven’t gained the courage to get back in that driver’s seat in the middle of all that traffic.  4. I dislike soggy cereal.  5. I am working on my bucket-list and skydiving is on the list. (I KNOW: How can I possibly go skydiving when I can’t even feel safe driving on the interstate? Go figure..)  🙂  6. I recently became a NANA for the first time and I’m here to say, “There’s nothing like it!”  7. My family and God are the most important part of my life.

Now…It’s your turn. If you have anything in common with me…let me know. If you have advice, give it! If you have something to say, please share it with me. Tell me something…anything…whatever is on your mind.  I want to hear your voice. What you have to say matters to me. LET’S TALK!

                                                   Simply,  Laura

  1. I also adore music. Not too sure if sky diving is on my bucket list. But maybe! Working on building and living out my bucket list as well which drove me on here to blog. Loved reading your post! 🙂

    1. Thanks for following. I visited your blog and love it. Sounds like we have some common interests. I am now following your blog and look forward to reading more. I love the title: The Passion Hunt

  2. I know I’m not too old to learn…but just never had the opportunities growing up to learn and never desired to learn as an adult. My children learned to swim when they were young and my husband swims. Me? I enjoy listening to music on the beach/pool and going in long enough to get wet…and then I’m out of there! LOL
I am so eager to do some of the things on my bucket list. I just need to get settled and then make the time. Thanks for chatting! 🙂

  3. I love music! Even when I don’t have a radio, I still have the jukebox playing in my head. Soggy cereal is the worst. Sky diving is also on my bucket list! 🙂

But I love swimming. For me, it’s very zen and majorly relaxing. Before I moved, I swam almost every day. Now I’m going through withdraw because I haven’t found a new pool to go to yet. If you’re tempted to learn to swim (and I encourage you do to so), I recommend checking out the local YWCA/YMCA. Ys have swim lessons and most will have a class for adults.

  4. Funny you should say that about abrasive people…I am realizing that certain people that used to annoy me don’t annoy so much anymore and I’m actually learning to respect their boldness,at times. I love all music, except metal. No offense to metal but I can’t relate. My husband and I have been attending rock concerts every year for the past 30 years. It’s our “Me Time” together. Thanks for the prayers. God is pushing me out the door in to that driver’s seat soon than what I want…but HE knows best! 🙂

  5. 1. I am a fellow music lover too! However, my taste is random and once I enjoy something I listen to it over and over before I move on to something else. 2. I haven’t gone swimming since I was 12 or 13 so I’m not sure if I still know how to swim. I keep telling myself I need to refresh those skills in case I need to get my Baywatch on and save someone’s life. 😉 3. I, too, dislike soggy cereal. UGH! If someone wanted to torture me forcing me to consume soggy cereal should be at the top of the list. 4. I am easily annoyed by people with abrasive personalities, but on the flip side feel drawn to them. It’s like the challenge of solving a rubik’s cube. Thankfully, this doesn’t cross over to my romantic relationships. 5. Praying you feel more comfortable driving on the highway. 🙂
